What is an offer?
An offer, or a quotation is a proposal. The clientele is thus invited to enter into a contract with the company and gets an offer of goods or services. If the client accepts the offer, it must be fulfilled according to its precise specifications. The conditions in an offer are therefore binding.
Is an offer really binding?
In principle, an offer, in particular the prices for products and services stated therein, is binding. If your company does not want to commit, it must clearly state that it is "non-binding".
Do you have to prepare an offer and don't know what is included?
When preparing an offer, the following information must be included:
· Name and address of own company
· Name and address of the client
· Date or time of validity of your offer
· Offer number
· Contact
· The offer (quantities, prices and costs) in detail
· Details of discount and or cash discount
· The tax rate (for example incl. 7.7 VAT)
· Reference to your General Terms and Conditions (GTC), if available
What does it look like in practice?
Many companies create quote templates with Excel or Word. However, information such as address data, date, products, prices and VAT must be constantly adjusted.

How do I create an offer with Atlanto?
1. Book the module "Sales and Accounting".
2. Add your offer in the "Products" section. Determine the purchase, sales price, discount and VAT. This can be a product or a service.
3. Add the offer in the "Documents" section. First, you enter the offer information, such as your customer(s) and the delivery details. For services, payment term is required, but the delivery details are omitted.
4. Under "Positions" you enter individual products or services and provide them with quantities, their prices are automatically displayed. You have the option of including or excluding VAT in your offer. Since transparency towards the customer is very important, we recommend that you show the offer including VAT. After that you can add a footer text and save the offer.
5. With the button "Action" you can edit your offer, delete it, copy it, send it by mail or generate it as a PFD.
6. As soon as you send the offer to your client, you will likely receive a reply. When your client contacts you, you can change the status of your offer, either to "accepted" or "rejected".
7. If your client accepts the offer, generate a new document. You have the choice between an order confirmation, requisition order, delivery note, invoice or credit note. You can find your documents in the overview and edit them at any time.
