How Swiss Post gives startups a boost

The startup “Stadt Land Korb” sends gift packages every day containing high-quality “made in Switzerland” products. To save time and simplify the shipping process, this fledgling company relies on Swiss Post, and mainly uses the Self-service business customer point.



At the end of 2020, Joelle Handschin and John Paul Hofer launched “Stadt Land Korb”, an e-shop selling gift baskets containing exclusive Swiss products. This was at the peak of the coronavirus crisis – and just before Christmas, too. The idea caught on right away, and orders started coming in thick and fast. The startup faced the challenge of delivering multiple parcels in different weights and sizes each day. “The delivery process had to be spot on right away, and as easy as possible too,” explains Managing Director Joelle Handschin. “We both wondered where exactly we could post the parcels. Then, using the Swiss Post location search, we found the Self-service business customer point in Sissach, which is really close to us.”

The two entrepreneurs have their own badge and can post priority parcels and letters there up until 6 p.m., while Swiss Post takes care of weighing and franking everything. “This saves us time and is super convenient,” says Joelle. “Once a month, we receive an invoice detailing shipping costs, which allows us to keep track.”

Stadt Land Korb can also use My Post 24 terminals round the clock for shipments. Alternatively, they can ask Swiss Post to collect parcels at the time they want from their company premises. In other words, they can do whatever suits them, depending on the number of orders they receive. And more and more are coming in. “Stadt Land Korb” just keeps getting bigger – and part of that is down to having Swiss Post as our logistics partner. “Whether it’s a birthday surprise or a company gift, there is always an occasion to put a smile on someone’s face,” says Joelle. “Our gift baskets are put together with love and care, which is why it’s so important to us that we can count on reliable delivery from Swiss Post.”
